S. G. Balekundri Institute of Technology (SGBIT), Belagavi, in association with the New Age Innovation Network (NAIN) 2.0 — an initiative under K-tech, the Vishveswaraya Research & Innovation Foundation and Startup Karnataka — has had 10 research project ideas selected for funding in the academic year 2026-27, with a total sanctioned grant of ₹43,00,000.

The selected projects span autonomous drones, agricultural robotics, secure EV charging, intelligent cooking systems, sustainable/biodegradable materials, AI-based safety systems, geopolymer construction materials, precision agriculture diagnostics, sustainable fuel blends and smart groundwater management — reflecting SGBIT's continued thrust on applied, industry-relevant research and innovation.
