3. To advice and support any girl student if faced by any specific problem.

Report:
"Pragati - Women Empowerment Cell" of SGBIT organized Swatch Bharath Abhiyaan program on 2nd October 2020 on the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhiji. Prof. Chitrashree Kurtkoti welcomed all lady faculty members and explained Motto behind the Swatch Bharath Abhiyaan program. SGBIT faculty members cleaned SGBIT campus, ground and girls hostel premises. Prof. Jaya P proposed vote of thanks. Dr. Sidramappa V Itti , principal SGBIT appreciated the members of Women Empowerment Cell.

Orphanage Visit Report

Women Empowerment Cell, SGBIT visited and extended its helping hands by providing food materials to an orphanage “Vivekanand Seva Pratistan – Smt. Gangamma Chikkumbi Math”, Belagavi, on 13.10.2020. Faculty from all the departments contributed and participated in the activity.

Navaratri Celebration Report

Women Empowerment Cell, SGBIT celebrated Navaratri by followed dress code, from 17.10.2020 to 24.10.2020. Faculty from all the actively participated in the activity and management and Principal of SGBIT supported Women Empowerment Cell team for conduction of this event.

Webinar Report

Anti Sexual Harassment Cell SGBIT in association with Women Empowerment Cell, SGBIT organized a webinar on “Anti Sexual Harassment Act” on 02.11.2020. Dr. Christina Kantharaj, Guest faculty, Centre for women’s studies, Manas Gangotri, Mysore delivered the webinar and narrated all the key points of “Anti Sexual Harassment Act”. Dr. Jayashree Rudagi, HOD, ECE gave presidential remarks, Dr. Supanna Shirguppe, coordinator- Anti Sexual Harassment Cell SGBIT welcomed the gathering, Prof. Chitrashree Kurtkoti coordinator- Women Empowerment Cell, SGBIT proposed vote of thanks. Report:
Women Cell of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering conducted “Bridal Make Up “event on 15th February 2021. The aim of the event was to provide the platform to showcase the bridal make up of different cultures. Girl Students from First and Second year of all branches participated in the event. Two students per group presented their talent on bridal make up. Event was organized by Prof Jaya M Pattanshetti, Dept WEC coordinator, Prof Chitrashree K, Coordinator WEC, SGBIT and student coordinators Ms Shambhavi.B, Ms Rutu Hooli, Ms Smita P and Ms Madhushree W. The Judges for the function were Dr. Jayashree Rudagi, HOD E&C and Dr. Supanna Shiraguppe, HOD EEE. Dr.Dinesha H A HOD,CSE motivated the students with his words. Faculty from various department and students witnessed the event.

Report:
Women cell of ECE conducted ‘Pick and Speak’ and ‘Theme based Painting’ events on 08-02-2021 for 1st and 3rd semester girls.
The Painting event- Thrown light on “Current issue like post COVID impact”, “Water conservation” and so on. Pick and Speak event- will boost the communication and creative thinking skills of students. Pick and Speak events was judged by Dr. Revati More. Them based Painting was judged by Prof. Manjunath S. Central Event coordinator SGBIT. Event was organized by Prof. Anita Patil, Women cell coordinator ECE, President by Dr. Jayashri M. Rudagi.

International Women’s Day Celebration - 08.03.2021

Report:
• A grand celebration was organized with myriad of events to mark the International Women’s Day on 8th of March, 2021 on the premises of the S. G. Balekundri Institute of Technology, Shivabasavanagar, Belagavi. About two hundred and fifty girl students and female teaching faculty rejoiced during the fete which was organized at the Seminar Hall-1. The ceremonial function commenced with an invocation by Miss. Kavya Kuppast succeeded by Welcome speech of Central Women Empowerment Cell coordinator Prof. Chitrashree Kurtkoti followed by floral and memento presentation. The ceremonial inauguration was marked by lightening of the lamp.
• Dr. Neeta Deshpande, the renowned Diabetologist and Bariatric physician of Belagavi, was the honored chief guest who enlightened the students and the faculty on maintaining a healthy work-life balance. She also emphasized upon eating right; physical and mental fitness of women and the fact that “health span is more important than life span”. Dr. Padmini Ravindran, Principal, St. Paul’s PU College, Belagavi was the esteemed Guest of Honor who addressed the jubilant gathering by highlighting the contributions of various women to the Indian society that have brought about a transformation in the perspective of the world towards women. Next, Dr.Neeta Deshpande and Dr. Padmini Ravindran were felicitated. The chairman, Dr.F.V. Manavi impressed the audience by accentuating the importance of a homemaker. The event was conducted under the guidance of Principal Siddramappa V. Itti who remarked that; discrimination on the basis of gender among the children should be avoided; women are leaders already and the institution has been constantly supporting women in realizing their aspirations in all possible ways. The female cleanup crew was also given a grand felicitation recognizing their involvement in keeping the campus clean and green. Eventually, Poojya Shri Dr. Allamaprabhu swamiji, in his Ashirvachana- highlighting the role of a mother- remarked that a woman is the true embodiment of patience, strength and kindness and that it has been the responsibility of a woman to protect the family. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by the student WEC coordinator Miss Shilpa Palankar which was followed by the National Anthem. The gathering had the benefit of lunch that was organized at the Shree Prabhudev Auditorium. The main attraction of the grand celebration was the cultural events and gala in which the female gathering took delight.
