Welcome to SG Balekundri Institute of Technology Campus

S G. Balekundri Institute of Technology was founded in 2008 to create Engineers who can define, design and deliver technology to improve people’s lives. In all our pursuits we lay profound emphasis on values to fulfill the universal goal of creating a happy and peaceful society.

Today, SGBIT lies in the league of premier institutes of Karnataka and has a tryst with global standards in its commitment to bring up ‘Engineers of Tomorrow’.

Civil Engineering - SGBIT
Civil Engineering

The Civil Engineering Department is started in the year 2010-11 with an intake of 60 students and later the intake is upgraded to 120 in the year 2014-15, similarly in the same year post graduate course in Structural Engineering started and now department has research center in civil engineering affiliated to VTU.

Computer Science Engineering - SGBIT
Computer Science and Engineering

The Computer Science Engineering Department was started in the year 2008 and now conducts one undergraduate program and Ph.D program with affiliation to VTU. The department is striving hard to make the unique spirit of SGBIT, an Institution with a difference by promoting excellence in Teaching, Research and Services covering the fundamentals as well as applied aspects of CS and IT.

Mechanical Engineering - SGBIT
Mechanical Engineering

The Department of Mechanical Engineering has started in the year 2008 with an intake of 60 students; later in 2014 the intake is increased to 120 students. In the year 2014 Started M. Tech program in Thermal Power Engineering. Further department received VTU approval in 2017 to start Research Center to fulfill the growing needs of research activities.

Electrical & Electronics Engineering - SGBIT
Electrical & Electronics Engineering

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was established in the year 2008, right from the inception of the institution. With a present intake of 60, the department has well equipped laboratories and is spread over an area of more than 900 square meters. The department has dedicated faculty with one doctorate and four of them pursuing Ph.D.

Electronics & Communication Engineering - SGBIT
Electronics & Communication Engineering

The department of Electronics and Communication Engineering started in the year 2008, and has been in the forefront of imparting quality education to the students. The department has a strong undergraduate program with an intake of 120 students.

Artifical and Data Science - SGBIT
Artificial Intelligence and Data Science

Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (AI&DS) is started in the year 2021. In this program Student will learn scientific methodologies, processes and techniques drawn from different domains Such as -Programming, Big data, Distributed Computing and Deep learning.The department has a strong undergraduate program with an intake of 120 students.

Computer Science and Business Systems

Computer Science and Business Systems (CSBS) is started in the year 2023. In this program Student will enhance the understanding of business systems and practices, further enriching students' perspectives and skill sets.Students graduates to become versatile professionals capable of addressing complex challenges and driving innovation across industries.

M.Tech in Structural Engineering - SGBIT
M.Tech in Structural Engineering

Realizing that post graduate programme would add value to under graduate programme in terms of human resources, better infrastructure, laboratory and library facilities and to cater to the needs of students aspiring to pursue post graduation, M.Tech. in Structural Engineering was introduced in 2014-15 with an intake of 18.
